1. INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Legal Ears.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Legal Ears website, mobile applications, software, APIs, communication systems, wallet services, messaging services, video consultation services, and all associated products and services (collectively referred to as the "Platform").

Throughout these Terms, "Legal Ears", "Pitlox", "Company", "we", "our", and "us" shall refer to Pitlox and the Legal Ears Platform.
By accessing, downloading, browsing, registering for, or using the Platform in any manner, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform.
2. DEFINITIONS
For these Terms:
Account
A registered user profile created on the Platform.
User
Any individual using the Platform to seek legal consultation.
Lawyer
An advocate or legal professional registered on the Platform after successful verification.
Consultation
A legal discussion conducted through chat, video, or any communication feature provided by Legal Ears.
Wallet
The digital wallet maintained within the Platform for making consultation payments.
Consultation Fee
The amount charged by a Lawyer for providing consultation through the Platform.
Content
Includes text, messages, documents, files, photographs, videos, profile information, reviews, ratings, and all other material uploaded or exchanged through the Platform.
Services
All features and services offered through Legal Ears.
3. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that:

you are legally competent to enter into a binding agreement;

all information provided is true, accurate, and complete;
-
you shall comply with all applicable laws;
-
you agree to all Platform policies;
-
you shall not misuse the Platform.
If you use the Platform on behalf of an organisation, law firm, partnership, company, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind such entity to these Terms.
4. ELIGIBILITY
You may use Legal Ears only if:

You are at least eighteen (18) years old or have attained the age of majority under applicable law.

You possess the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.

You provide accurate and complete registration information.

Your use of the Platform does not violate applicable laws.
Lawyers must additionally possess valid qualifications, enrolment, licences, and registrations required under applicable law.
Legal Ears may request documentary proof at any time.
5. ABOUT LEGAL EARS
Legal Ears is a technology-enabled legal consultation platform connecting users with independent legal professionals.
The Platform enables:

Video consultations
-
Secure chat
-
Document sharing
-
Appointment scheduling
-
Wallet payments
-
Consultation history
-
Ratings and reviews
Legal Ears facilitates communication but does not itself provide legal advice.
6. NATURE OF THE PLATFORM
Legal Ears is solely a technology intermediary.
The Company is not:

a law firm;
-
an advocate;
-
a legal consultancy;
-
a mediator;
-
an arbitrator;
-
a court;
-
a government authority.
Legal Ears neither provides legal opinions nor represents users in legal proceedings.
Each Lawyer remains solely responsible for the legal advice, guidance, and professional services they provide.
Nothing contained on the Platform shall be interpreted as legal advice from Legal Ears.
7. USER REGISTRATION
Users may create an account using approved registration methods offered by the Platform.
During registration, Users agree to:

provide accurate information;

keep profile information updated;
-
maintain confidentiality of login credentials;
-
use only one personal account unless otherwise authorised.
Users remain solely responsible for activities conducted through their account.
8. LAWYER REGISTRATION & VERIFICATION
Lawyers wishing to provide consultations must successfully complete the onboarding process prescribed by Legal Ears.
The Company may request:

Verification by Legal Ears only confirms that the submitted documentation has been reviewed based on the Platform's onboarding process. It does not constitute a certification, endorsement, guarantee, or warranty regarding the lawyer's competence, professional conduct, legal advice, or future performance.
The Company reserves the right to reject, suspend, or revoke any lawyer profile at its sole discretion, including where submitted information is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, unverifiable, or where continued participation may pose risks to users, the Platform, or compliance obligations.
9. ACCOUNT SECURITY
Every User and Lawyer shall:

maintain secure passwords;
-
protect OTPs;
-
not share login credentials;
-
immediately report unauthorised access.
Legal Ears shall not be responsible for losses arising from compromised credentials caused by user negligence.
10. USER OBLIGATIONS
Every User agrees:

to act lawfully;
-
to provide truthful information;
-
to respect lawyers;
-
not to misuse consultations;
-
not to upload malicious software;
-
not to impersonate another person;
-
not to create fake accounts;
-
not to harass lawyers;
-
not to threaten or abuse any person;
-
not to misuse payment systems;
-
not to violate intellectual property rights.
Users are responsible for ensuring that any documents or information they share are accurate, lawful, and that they have the right to disclose them.
11. LAWYER OBLIGATIONS
11.1 Every Lawyer registered on Legal Ears represents and warrants that:
a. They are duly enrolled with the appropriate State Bar Council and entitled to practice law in India.
b. All information, qualifications, certifications, enrolment details, practice areas, and experience submitted to the Platform are true, complete, and accurate.
c. They shall comply with all applicable laws, professional ethics, Bar Council of India Rules, and directions issued by competent authorities.
d. They shall maintain the highest standards of professionalism, honesty, confidentiality, courtesy, and integrity while interacting with Users.
11.2 Lawyers agree that they shall not:

Misrepresent qualifications or experience.

Promise guaranteed legal outcomes.
-
Encourage unlawful activities.
-
Use abusive, discriminatory, threatening, or offensive language.
-
Solicit payments outside the Platform.
-
Share personal contact information with the intention of bypassing the Platform.
-
Demand additional fees outside the Platform for consultations initiated through Legal Ears.
-
Create duplicate accounts.
-
Impersonate another advocate or law firm.
-
Upload false certificates or forged documents.
-
Misuse confidential client information.
11.3 Lawyers remain solely responsible for:

Legal opinions.
-
Drafting advice.
-
Case strategy.
-
Court filings.
-
Compliance with statutory timelines.
-
Professional negligence, if any.
-
Any advocate-client relationship formed under applicable law.
Legal Ears shall not supervise or control the legal advice provided by Lawyers.
12. CONSULTATION SERVICES
12.1 Legal Ears enables Users and Lawyers to communicate through digital means, including:

Video Consultations
-
Secure Chat
-
Appointment Scheduling
-
Document Sharing
12.2 Consultations are conducted solely between the User and the Lawyer.
12.3 Legal Ears is not a party to any consultation.
12.4 The Platform does not guarantee:
-
Consultation availability.
-
Lawyer response times.
-
Legal success.
-
Case outcomes.
-
Settlement of disputes.
12.5 Users acknowledge that consultations are intended to provide professional legal guidance based on the information shared by the User.
Incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading information may affect the quality of advice received.
13. VIDEO CONSULTATIONS
13.1 Video consultations are facilitated through secure communication infrastructure provided by the Platform.
13.2 Legal Ears does not record video consultations.
13.3 Consultations may be subject to limited live monitoring by authorised personnel solely for:

Quality assurance.

Fraud prevention.
-
Technical support.
-
Platform security.
-
Compliance with applicable law.
-
Investigation of reported misconduct.
Any such monitoring shall be carried out subject to strict confidentiality obligations and only to the extent reasonably necessary.
13.4 Users and Lawyers agree that they shall not:

Record video consultations.
-
Livestream consultations.
-
Broadcast consultations.
-
Share consultation recordings.
-
Capture screenshots without consent.
-
Publish consultation content.
Except where expressly permitted by law.
13.5 Any unauthorised recording may result in immediate suspension and may expose the offending party to legal action.
14. CHAT & MESSAGING
14.1 Legal Ears provides an encrypted in-platform messaging system.
14.2 Chat functionality may be used for:

Pre-consultation discussions.
-
Appointment scheduling.
-
Sharing legal documents.
-
Follow-up communication.
-
Clarification of consultation matters.
14.3 Chat history may be retained and remains accessible only to the participating User and Lawyer, subject to applicable law, these Terms, and the Privacy Policy.
14.4 Users and Lawyers must not use the chat system to:

Exchange personal phone numbers.
-
Share personal email addresses.
-
Share UPI IDs.
-
Share payment links.
-
Share social media accounts.
-
Solicit off-platform consultations.
-
Circumvent Platform fees.
Repeated violations may result in permanent account suspension.
15. DOCUMENT SHARING
15.1 Users and Lawyers may upload documents relevant to legal consultations.
15.2 Users represent that they have lawful authority to upload all documents submitted through the Platform.
15.3 Users must not upload:

Forged documents.
-
Malware.
-
Copyright-infringing material.
-
Obscene content.
-
Defamatory material.
-
Illegal content.
-
Material containing viruses or malicious code.
15.4 Lawyers shall handle all documents confidentially and use them solely for the relevant consultation.
15.5 Legal Ears reserves the right to remove unlawful content and cooperate with lawful requests from competent authorities.
16. DIGITAL WALLET
16.1 The Platform provides an integrated digital wallet for Users to pay consultation fees.
16.2 Wallet balances may be funded through payment methods approved by Legal Ears.
16.3 Wallet funds are intended exclusively for payments made through the Platform.
16.4 Users may not transfer wallet balances to another user.
16.5 Wallet balances are non-transferable and generally non-withdrawable.
16.6 Refund requests may be considered only in circumstances approved by the Platform, including:

Duplicate transactions.
-
Failed transactions where funds were debited.
-
Wrongful deductions.
-
Technical errors.
-
Account closure (subject to verification and applicable policies).
-
Any other case approved by Legal Ears.
16.7 Legal Ears reserves the right to verify all refund claims before processing.
17. CONSULTATION FEES & BILLING
17.1 Consultation fees are displayed on each Lawyer's profile and are charged on a per-minute basis.
17.2 Fees begin accruing only after the completion of the Platform-provided free consultation period.
17.3 The Platform automatically deducts consultation charges from the User's wallet based on the actual duration of the consultation.
17.4 Users are responsible for maintaining sufficient wallet balance before initiating a consultation.
17.5 If the wallet balance becomes insufficient, the consultation may be terminated automatically or paused until additional funds are added, subject to the Platform's technical design.
17.6 The consultation fee shown on the Platform is the amount payable by the User. Unless otherwise stated, no additional GST or platform fee is charged separately to the User, although taxes may be accounted for internally or as required by law.
18. FIRST ONE-MINUTE FREE POLICY
18.1 Legal Ears offers the first one (1) minute of every consultation free of charge to enable Users and Lawyers to briefly discuss the nature of the legal issue before paid consultation begins.
18.2 This benefit is a Platform feature and cannot be modified, disabled, or extended by Lawyers.
18.3 Legal Ears reserves the right to modify or withdraw this feature prospectively, with reasonable notice where required.
18.4 Any misuse of the free consultation feature, including repeatedly ending consultations to obtain multiple free minutes, may result in suspension or other action.
19. REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
19.1 Refunds are not available merely because a User is dissatisfied with the legal opinion provided by a Lawyer.
19.2 Refunds may be considered for:

Duplicate payments.
-
Failed payment transactions.
-
Technical failures attributable to the Platform.
-
Incorrect deductions.
-
Wallet debit errors.
-
Other circumstances determined by Legal Ears in its sole discretion.
19.3 Users must submit refund requests through the Platform or via the official support channels.
19.4 Legal Ears may require supporting documentation or transaction details before processing a refund.
19.5 Approved refunds will ordinarily be processed to the original payment method or otherwise as determined by the Platform, subject to applicable law and payment partner policies.
20. LAWYER EARNINGS & WITHDRAWALS
20.1 Earnings
Lawyers shall earn professional consultation fees for completed paid consultations conducted through the Platform, subject to these Terms and any applicable commercial agreement with Legal Ears.
20.2 Platform Commission
Legal Ears may deduct its agreed platform service fee, payment gateway charges, taxes required by law, refunds, chargebacks, or other authorised deductions before crediting earnings to the Lawyer.
The applicable commercial arrangement shall be communicated separately and may be revised upon reasonable notice.
20.3 Earnings Dashboard
Lawyers may access an earnings dashboard showing information including:

Total earnings
-
Pending settlements
-
Completed consultations
-
Wallet balance
-
Withdrawal history
-
Transaction history
The dashboard is provided for convenience and may be updated periodically.
20.4 Minimum Withdrawal
Lawyers may request withdrawal of earnings only after accumulating a minimum withdrawable balance of ₹500.
Legal Ears reserves the right to revise this threshold with prior notice.
20.5 Processing Time
Approved withdrawals are generally processed within the timelines communicated by the Platform. Delays may occur due to:

Banking holidays

Payment gateway issues
-
Regulatory verification
-
Fraud investigations
-
Technical maintenance
-
Force majeure events
20.6 Verification Before Withdrawal
Legal Ears may request:

Identity verification
-
Bank account verification
-
PAN verification
-
Additional documentation
before processing withdrawals.
20.7 Suspension of Withdrawals
Legal Ears may temporarily withhold or suspend withdrawals where there are reasonable grounds to suspect:

Fraud
-
Identity theft
-
Fake consultations
-
Money laundering
-
Chargebacks
-
Duplicate accounts
-
Platform abuse
-
Court orders
-
Government directions
-
Ongoing investigations
Such action shall not constitute a breach of these Terms.
21. RATINGS & REVIEWS
21.1 Community Transparency
Users may submit ratings and written reviews after completing a consultation.
21.2 Honest Feedback
Reviews should reflect genuine personal experiences.
Users agree not to submit reviews that are:

False

Misleading
-
Defamatory
-
Abusive
-
Threatening
-
Discriminatory
-
Offensive
-
Promotional
-
Fake
21.3 Moderation
Legal Ears reserves the right, but not the obligation, to remove or moderate reviews that violate these Terms or applicable law.
21.4 No Manipulation
Lawyers shall not:

Purchase reviews

Offer incentives for positive reviews

Pressure Users
-
Create fake User accounts
-
Post reviews about themselves
-
Arrange review manipulation
Violation may result in immediate suspension.
22. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
Users and Lawyers shall not:
Platform Misuse

Use stolen identities

Impersonate another person
-
Circumvent Platform fees

Attempt unauthorised access

Reverse engineer the Platform

Interfere with Platform security

Introduce malware

belongs exclusively to Pitlox or its licensors.
23.2 Limited Licence
Legal Ears grants Users and Lawyers a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform solely for its intended purpose.
No ownership rights are transferred.
23.3 Restrictions
Without prior written consent, Users and Lawyers shall not:

Modify
-
Sell
-
Rent
-
Lease
-
Distribute
-
Publish
-
Reproduce
-
Reverse engineer
-
Decompile
-
Create derivative works
-
Commercially exploit any part of the Platform.
24. USER CONTENT
24.1 Ownership
Users and Lawyers retain ownership of content uploaded by them.
24.2 Licence to Legal Ears
By uploading content, you grant Legal Ears a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:

-
Display
-
Process
-
Transmit

Back up
such content solely for operating, securing, improving, supporting, and maintaining the Platform and as otherwise permitted by applicable law.
24.3 Responsibility
You remain solely responsible for:

Uploaded documents

Messages

Reviews

Images
-
Profile information
-
Shared files
25. PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY
Legal Ears respects the confidentiality of legal consultations.
Users and Lawyers agree to maintain the confidentiality of all communications, documents, and information exchanged through the Platform, except where disclosure is:

Required by law;
-
Ordered by a court or competent authority;
-
Necessary to investigate fraud or misuse of the Platform; or
-
Permitted under the Privacy Policy.
Legal Ears implements reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards to protect personal information. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security, and users acknowledge the inherent risks of electronic communications.
26. LIVE MONITORING
Legal Ears does not record video consultations.
However, authorised personnel may conduct limited live monitoring solely for:

-
Technical support

Quality assurance
-
Compliance with law
-
Investigation of reported misconduct
Any monitoring shall be confidential and limited to what is reasonably necessary for these purposes.
27. PLATFORM AVAILABILITY
27.1 Service Availability
Legal Ears strives to keep the Platform available on a continuous basis. However, the Company does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or continuous availability of the Platform.
27.2 Scheduled Maintenance
The Platform may be temporarily unavailable due to:

Software updates

Security upgrades

Infrastructure improvements
without prior notice.
27.3 Technical Interruptions
Legal Ears shall not be liable for interruptions caused by:

Cyber attacks

Natural disasters

Government actions

Force majeure events
28. ACCOUNT SUSPENSION & TERMINATION
28.1 Suspension by Legal Ears
Legal Ears reserves the absolute right to suspend, restrict, disable, or terminate any account without prior notice where it reasonably believes that a User or Lawyer has:

Violated these Terms.

Submitted false information.
-
Misrepresented qualifications.
-
Created duplicate accounts.
-
Used fraudulent payment methods.
-
Circumvented Platform fees.
-
Shared personal contact information to move consultations off-platform.
-
Engaged in abusive conduct.
-
Violated applicable laws.
-
Threatened Platform security.
-
Uploaded unlawful content.
-
Attempted to manipulate ratings or earnings.
-
Breached professional ethics.
28.2 Immediate Suspension
Immediate suspension may occur where Legal Ears believes continued access could:

Harm other Users.
-
Harm Lawyers.
-
Harm the Platform.
-
Create legal liability.
-
Facilitate fraud.
-
Compromise data security.
28.3 Termination by User
Users may request closure of their account by contacting the official support team or using available account management features.
Outstanding obligations, unresolved disputes, pending refunds, or legal requirements may delay account closure.
28.4 Termination by Lawyer
Lawyers may request deactivation of their professional profile.
Any pending:

consultations;
-
payment disputes;
-
investigations;
-
chargebacks; or
-
regulatory matters
must first be resolved.
29. DISCLAIMERS
29.1 Technology Platform Only
Legal Ears is solely a technology platform.
Legal Ears is not:

A law firm.
-
A legal consultancy.
-
A legal aid authority.
-
A court.
-
A tribunal.
-
A mediator.
-
An arbitrator.
-
A government authority.
29.2 No Legal Advice
Nothing available on the Platform shall be interpreted as legal advice provided by Legal Ears.
All legal advice is independently provided by Lawyers.
29.3 No Guarantee
Legal Ears does not guarantee:

Success of litigation.
-
Court decisions.
-
Settlement.
-
Recovery of damages.
-
Lawyer availability.
-
Lawyer suitability.
-
Accuracy of legal advice.
-
Timely responses.
-
Consultation outcomes.
29.4 User Responsibility
Users remain solely responsible for:

Selecting a Lawyer.
-
Providing complete facts.
-
Acting upon legal advice.
-
Filing court proceedings.
-
Meeting statutory deadlines.
29.5 Professional Independence
Lawyers remain entirely independent professionals.
Nothing contained on the Platform shall be interpreted as creating an employer-employee relationship between Legal Ears and any Lawyer.
30. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Legal Ears, Pitlox, its directors, officers, employees, consultants, affiliates, contractors, licensors, payment partners, and service providers shall not be liable for any:

indirect damages;

incidental damages;
-
consequential damages;
-
exemplary damages;
-
punitive damages;
-
special damages;
-
loss of profits;
-
loss of income;
-
loss of business;
-
loss of opportunity;
-
loss of goodwill;
-
legal costs;
-
emotional distress;
-
reputational harm;
-
data loss;
-
service interruption;
-
cyber incidents caused by third parties;
-
acts or omissions of Lawyers or Users.
Legal Ears' aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms shall, to the extent permitted by law, not exceed the total amount of Platform service fees retained by Legal Ears from the specific transaction giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
31. INDEMNIFICATION
Users and Lawyers agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Legal Ears, Pitlox, its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, and contractors from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, penalties, costs, and reasonable legal expenses arising from:

breach of these Terms;
-
violation of applicable laws;
-
infringement of third-party rights;
-
misuse of the Platform;
-
fraudulent conduct;
-
professional negligence (in the case of Lawyers);
-
inaccurate information provided to the Platform.
32. FORCE MAJEURE
Legal Ears shall not be liable for any delay or failure in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including:

Natural disasters.

Floods.
-
Earthquakes.
-
Fires.
-
Epidemics.
-
Pandemics.
-
War.
-
Terrorism.
-
Civil unrest.
-
Government restrictions.
-
Internet failures.
-
Power outages.
-
Cyber attacks.
-
Payment network failures.
-
Cloud service failures.
-
Labour disputes.
Performance shall resume as soon as reasonably practicable after the event ceases.
33. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India.
Subject to the arbitration provisions below, the courts at Delhi, India, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms.
34. DISPUTE RESOLUTION & ARBITRATION
34.1 Amicable Resolution
The parties shall first attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith discussions.
34.2 Arbitration
If a dispute is not resolved within thirty (30) days, it shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, as amended from time to time.
The arbitration shall:

be conducted by a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement, or failing agreement, in accordance with applicable law;
-
have its seat and venue in Delhi, India, unless otherwise agreed by the parties; and
-

The arbitral award shall be final and binding on the parties, subject to any rights available under applicable law.
Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking interim or urgent relief from a court of competent jurisdiction where permitted by law.
35. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
Legal Ears may revise these Terms from time to time.
Updated Terms shall become effective upon publication on the Platform or on the effective date specified in the updated version.
Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
36. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
By using the Platform, you consent to receive communications electronically, including:

Transaction confirmations

Consultation notifications
-
OTPs
-
Security alerts
-
Payment notifications
-
Policy updates
-
Promotional communications (where consent has been provided)
Electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
37. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court or tribunal of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
38. WAIVER
Failure by Legal Ears to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or of any other right.
Any waiver shall be effective only if made in writing by an authorised representative of Legal Ears.
39. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Wallet Policy, Community Guidelines, and any other policies published by Legal Ears, constitute the entire agreement between the User, the Lawyer, and Legal Ears regarding use of the Platform.
They supersede all prior discussions, communications, representations, or agreements relating to the Platform.
40. GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL
In accordance with applicable Indian law, users may contact the Grievance Officer regarding complaints or concerns.
